Wembanyama has a great team around him, from coaches to his agency Com Sports, who from the outside have done a wonderful job with him. ![]() His maturity in combining both offense and defense assured me that he was exactly what everyone said he was – a once-in-a-lifetime talent.Īs colleagues of the coach Wembanyama worked with, what insights can you provide into Wembanyama’s training schedule and development and how this will impact his career? Do you see him struggling with 82 seasons? When the game started and I saw Wembanyama move, especially at his size, I knew that this is by far one of the most talented and confident players I have seen at his age and size. I knew it would be an intense game, especially with these two on the court at the same time. What was the first thing that came to your mind when you first saw him play?ĭuring this exploratory trip he played against one of my clients who I have been working with for a number of years, Ronald March, who was actually the second best player in France under Wembanyama. Your journey around the globe took you on an exploration to meet Victor Wembanyama. So when I’m willing to come to their house and give back, it inspires them even more to do their best at training. I also run a number of clinics in France, where both Mathias Lessort (French national team) and Tidijan Kieta (Guinea national team), both former NBA draftees, live. For example, every year I host a gun violence program in Michigan, home of my client James Young, the Kentucky standout who was drafted by the Celtics. With almost every player I work with, I make sure we do philanthropic work in their communities. Most importantly, players trust and connect with my work because I tap into their communities through the sport of basketball. Over time, this style of play spread throughout Europe into what is seen today, even in the NBA. After I got my chance abroad, players and coaches had a lot of respect for it and wanted me to teach them. For context, I was one of the best 1v1 players in the world and won the Red Bull King of the Rock tournament in 2011. I had a decent career, but what was definitely connected to the basketball community in those places was my ability to score efficiently in any system. I have played professional basketball multiple times around the world including Australia, France and Israel to name a few places. We are in a special time where we can connect with this great sport through the NBA, social media and my specialty, community service and supporting millions of people around the world.
